On public holidays (14/5, 25/5, 14/7, 15/8) you will find shops, museums and banks are often closed, so make sure you have enough local currency to tide you over.

French School holidays
Please note that summer school holidays in France run from 4/7/15 to 31/8/15. Resorts can be particularly busy during this period with more crowds and some queuing at the lifts. If you can avoid these period, not only you will avoid the crowds but you will also pay less for your holiday.

Useful information

France is, very much like the UK, an environmentally aware country. Recycling is widespread (an amazing 17 Billion carrier bags are issued in the UK each year so do bring some with you as you won’t find these issued in French supermarkets)
